Contractions during a miscarriage
Contractions during a miscarriage
I'm going to write about my experience with contractions during miscarriage. My baby died at 8 weeks and I was waiting for my miscarriage. I had miscarriage at 14 weeks experiencing contractions.
It started in the evening, I thought maybe I just had a strange stomach pain. I thought my stomach pain will go away, but then it progressed to contraction later that night. Every contraction felt like every muscle in my stomach squeezed really hard, it started slower and then was more and more painful. The most painful part of contractions lasted only about a minute or less so it wasn't bad.
I couldn't sleep well that night, I had mild contractions all night long. I tried not to wake up my husband because he had to get up very early.
I didn't use any painkillers that night because pain wasn't very bad, I could handle such pain very well.
In the morning about 5:00 a.m. contractions stopped and I had a lot of blood and I passed a blood clot. At first I thought maybe that blood clot was a baby, but later nurse explained me that was just a blood clot. A lot of blood was running, and I mean a lot!
In a couple hours I passed another blood clot and a lot of blood. Then contractions stopped completely for the most of the day.
Contractions again and seeing a baby
All day I didn't have contractions until 4:00 p.m. I started having contractions and I didn't know why. I never read much information about contractions or miscarriage, so I didn't know what to expect. This time contractions were stronger than at night.
Every time when I had contractions this time, I had to go lay in bed and go sit down because contractions were very strong. All muscles in my body would squeeze and I felt very strong. Contractions were very powerful, but I could handle them and I didn't need to go to the hospital. I used pain medication only in the last hour of my contractions. I got really tired and annoyed for contractions occurred every a few minutes.
I tried to bake chicken and prepare mashed potatoes while I had my contractions. I had run to the bad and lay down because it was hard standing up dealing with contractions. When I felt better, I tried to go back to kitchen and continue making my dinner.
My husband wasn't home, so I was home all by myself and tried to prepare nice dinner when he gets home. I called him and told him that I have contractions again.
These contractions lasted for 4 hours. I took painkillers in my last hour because I didn't know how long I have to deal with my contractions and I was really tired of them already. Painkillers made me only dizzy, sleepy and very relaxed, but I don't think that they decreased any pain at all.
After contractions stopped it was 8:00 p.m., I was sitting at the table and called my mother in law. I talked on phone with her telling her that my contractions had stopped and I feel a lot better. As soon as I put the phone down, I felt as something was coming out of me and I had to run to bathroom.
Right there my baby fell out with a lot of blood. At first I thought I just passed a lot of blood, but when I looked down and touched it, I found baby sack. It was a bag with a baby inside. I put a bag with a baby in a fridge as my doctor said. In a couple of hours my husband got home and we opened a baby bad and we found a baby laying inside. Baby looked white, was about 1 inch long, had eyes, arms, legs and fingers. Baby looked like he was asleep and very comfortable in his bag. We couldn't determine a sex of baby because baby was so small but seeing a baby was a very wonderful experience and we were very glad that we had a chance to see our baby.
In a few days I went to a doctor's check up, they did ultrasound and told me that everything came out during miscarriage and I can go home. It was a happy ending that my miscarriage finished without any complications for me.
